"Tomos Parry to Open Second Brat Site in Soho This Summer"

Tomos Parry has confirmed that a second Brat site will open in Soho this summer, occupying a two-floor space on Wardour Street that has been in fit-out since January. The announcement ends months of speculation that had followed Parry's acquisition of the lease last autumn.

The new restaurant will carry a different name from the Shoreditch original — which opened in 2018 and holds a Michelin star — and will operate as a distinct concept rather than a straightforward second site. Parry has described it as drawing on the same wood-fire cooking philosophy while building in an all-day structure that Brat's current format does not accommodate.

"Brat is what it is. It doesn't need to change," Parry told an industry publication earlier this week. "This is a different thing. We want to be open from breakfast through to late. We want it to feel like somewhere you can come every day if you live nearby."

The Wardour Street Site

The space on Wardour Street spans approximately 4,500 square feet across two floors, with a ground-floor dining room and a mezzanine that will operate as a more relaxed bar and small-plates area in the evening. The open kitchen — anchored by a custom-built wood-burning hearth — will be central to both floors and visible from the street.

Parry has said the menu will reflect a similar Basque and Welsh influence to Brat's existing offer, with wood-fire techniques applied across breakfast items, a separate lunch menu and a fuller dinner card. A natural wine list is expected, alongside a focus on Welsh and British producers across the food menu.

The Soho site will seat approximately 85 covers across both floors, compared to Brat's 60-cover Shoreditch space.

Staffing and Team

Head of culinary at the new site will be announced in the coming weeks, according to Parry. Several members of Brat's current team are understood to have been involved in the development menu stages. The operational team at Shoreditch is expected to remain in place without disruption during the new site's opening period.

Brat's general manager Oisín Rogers, whose involvement in the Shoreditch operation has been a significant factor in the restaurant's long-running critical success, is expected to retain his focus on the original site.

Opening Window

Parry has indicated a late July or early August opening, positioning the Wardour Street site to open in the summer trading window. No specific date has been confirmed. Reservations are expected to go live approximately six weeks ahead of opening.

The confirmation adds to a busy spring for central London restaurant openings, with several other high-profile sites in Soho and Mayfair expected to open before the end of Q2.
